Grip Plyaz

Grip Plyaz has been referred to as 'More Hood Than Hipster' or the perfect balance of hood meets hipster (for lack of a better term). Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Grip Plyaz's music is club-ready, laced with southern bass and catchy in a good way.

Since his 2008 release, 'Grip Hop', Grip Plyaz has been growing his fan base through his live stage performance. His single "Fuck Dat Hipster Shit" (unreleased) created major waves in hip-hop community giving skinny-jean rappers a song to identify with; the perfect theme song for fashionably trendy rappers that aren't from the suburbs.

Grip Plyaz has performed all over the country opening for and headlining for an array for artists including: Pill, Killer Mike, Yelawolf, Dom Kennedy, Jackie Chain, Kidz in the Hall, Donnis, B.o.B., T.I., Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Nappy Roots, Stat Quo, Mickey Factz, Playaz Circle, Lil B the Based God, Freddie Gibbs and more.

In early 2011, 10.Deep Clothing selected Grip Plyaz as their only artist featured in their Spring 2011 Look Book. From there, Grip Plyaz continued to work on his sophomore solo release, 'Purp, Wind & Fire.' Taking his time to perfect his sound and following a few of life's trials and tribulations, Grip Plyaz finally released 'Purp, Wind & Fire' via Noisey.com, Vice's premier music site. Features on this album include Go Dreamer, Trinidad Jame$, Slumerican's Rittz and more.
