Karpe Diem is one of, if not the most popular Norwegian acts right now. Despite their relatively young age, the hip hop duo consisting of Chirag Patel and Magdi Ytreeide Abdelmaguid, have achieved great success.
The Oslo based group has released four albums, won two Norwegian Grammies (Spellemann), including the most prestigious award for Artist of The Year as the first ever hip hop act, and headlined Norway’s biggest festivals.
The duo is raping in Norwegian, although their family backgrounds are a colorful mix of Indian, Ugandan, Egyptian and Norwegian.
Karpe Diem has during the last decade, become one of Norway’s most renowned live performers, and tour with a full band and DJ.
Their most recent album, released in September 2012, went straight to the top of the Norwegian charts, and has no less than three radio singles play listed simultaneously on Norwegian radio at the moment.
