Maze grew up in North Portland but was educated through experiences all over the city giving him a rare perspective on a town as it becomes famous. He began dropping mix tapes with The Progress Report 1 and 2, which were made up of beats he came across on the Internet. At the time still in high school, the projects were shared by friends and made a small impact as they would share with other friends at different high schools in the city.
After High School Maze briefly moved to the east coast but was drawn to return. In 2012 the Renaissance Coalition formed as Maze formed a special connection through collaboration with Zoo?, Bryce Lang & Anton Bogan. They hit the local scene in April of 2013 with “Time Travelers” a video and track that introduced RenCo to the Northwest music scene. In 2015 Maze remains a crucial member of the Renaissance Coalition and has joined forces with EYRST as he puts the final touches on his new project Osiris in which Maze is exploring a different sound from his last offering. Expect early 2016 and to showcase it at this years SXSW.
