Listen to On My Mind

Known for co-writing Chase & Status’ Top 5 smash: “Blind Faith feat. Liam Bailey”, Liam’s initial introduction to the music business came via the late Amy Winehouse who, after meeting him released his first 2 EPs on her Lioness Records imprint. Amy first heard Liam’s music through a mutual friend & acclaimed producer Salaam Remi, who amongst others, is working with Liam on his debut album. Recorded late at night in typically raw fashion, the EP's: “So Down, Cold” and “2AM Rough Tracks” are an enthralling window into Liam’s heart and mind.

Born in Nottingham to a Jamaican father and British mother Liam’s roots spread far and wide, with an even wider range of musical influences, from soul to reggae, punk to R&B and everything in between (he’s as likely to reference Etta James as he is The Smiths). Liam is a charismatic personality seamlessly treading that line between Liam Gallagher confidence and a more introverted, contemplative side, which fuels his song writing.

Listening to Liam Bailey, you’d be forgiven for thinking that here’s someone who’s lived more than just a little bit, that here’s someone who sounds like they’re a true soul singer of the old-fashioned (and best-possible) kind… You might well find yourself saying to yourself that you didn’t think they made them like this any more. And then, after the music finishes – once the needle is lifted clear, as you might imagine it – you’ll surely wonder: well, who is he then?

After sending DJ Jason Kramer 2 demo’s early 2012 Liam was immediately featured as their “Artist You Should Know” and followed up with with 3x sold USA headline shows. November 2012 saw Liam himself curate a night entitled ‘Liam Bailey & Friends’ to a sold out Union Chapel, London.

Liam can currently be heard on UK radio with new single “Soon Come” a collaboration with Shy FX released via Speakberbox and “When Will They Learn” released via Ministry of Sound recordings, which has already received a stamp of approval from influential radio station KCRW in Los Angeles, known as having broken Coldplay, Dido, Norah Jones amongst others. You can see Liam on tour with Chase & Status throughout November on their UK Arena tour following a successful summer of festivals.
