La Vida Boheme
La Vida Boheme is a dance rock band which formed on the fierce streets of Caracas, Venezuela, only three years ago. Early in their career, the group won a “battle of the bands” contest and began to plug themselves into the local dive bar circuit. Fast forward two years and you will find a very unlikely future taking place: their FIRST record turned them into stars in their country, signed by legendary indie label Nacional Records in the USA and Mexico, incredible reviews on their first US Tour (even getting front page in a New York Times piece by Jon Pareles) and nominated for two Latin Grammys 2011, for best Rock Song and Best Rock Album.
The band is currently and constantly touring the USA and enjoying quite a bit of critical and popular acclaim.
Sounds like:
NUESTRA, their first record, owes as much to LCD Soundsystem and The Clash as it does to Mercedes Sosa and Mano Negra. It was produced by local guru Rudy Pagliuca and mastered by Argentine maestro Andres Mayo.
The band is set to support ‘Nuestra’ with extensive touring across the U.S. in 2011 - 2012
