In 1999, Napster and the file-sharing revolution overturned the 20th Century model of music consumption. In 2024, generative AI technology promises an even greater transformation in creation - through impossible new sounds and deepened artist-fan relationships - with renewed uncertainty around ownership of creations, control over likeness, and revenue models. In this panel, an interdisciplinary team of experts from Google will explore the shape that a bold and responsible future for music and AI should take to sustain and enrich music’s creative ecosystem.
