Tackling Food Insecurity with NASA Satellite Data
In the face of a changing climate, two of NASA's program areas – Water Resources and Agriculture – are working together to support farmers’ and decision makers’ efforts to balance water usage with conservation needs to sustainably nourish communities. NASA data and tools are helping farmers decide when and how much to water their crops and protect against potential crop failures, while helping water resource managers and humanitarian agencies alike better understand where drought will hit hardest – so they can better ensure that the world's most food-insecure populations don't go hungry.
