Paul Raphael
Paul is an Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker, visual artist, director and studio head. He combines creative and technological innovation to explore ever-evolving forms of storytelling and is known for his projects’ remarkable ingenuity. In an over decade-long collaboration with his co-founder Félix Lajeunesse, he designed the camera technologies that brought the duo’s concepts to life, starting with the first-ever cinematic VR experience, Strangers with Patrick Watson— the project that launched the studio in 2013. Paul has since co-directed and overseen the creative direction of the studio’s 30+ projects, including The People’s House with former President Barack Obama, Traveling While Black with Roger Ross Williams, Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, and more.
