How Korea is Influencing Global Pop
In less than ten years, Korean pop music (Kpop) has risen from utter obscurity to become what is arguably today's most popular niche genre. In a global industry crippled by the digitalization of music, Korea's music industry has managed to flourish, sustaining consistent growth, keeping physical CD sales afloat, and garnering over 21 million non-Korean speaking fans of the genre. In this session, we will discuss the rise of Kpop, the strategies that made the Korean music industry successful, how artists from around the world can utilize those strategies, and the future of the genre.
