The Office of Population Affairs' (OPA) Title X program supports the provision of quality family planning services. To strengthen quality improvement within the program, OPA needs to be able to collect standardized, patient-level data from their 4000 clinical sites. To analyze these data, the variables needed to be in a standard format, despite coming from over 100 different systems. OPA created a data dictionary, and working with ACOG and Intermountain created a FHIR profile. Testing of this profile in a sandbox environment was performed, and progress on operationalizing this FHIR profile with vendors is underway. Scaling a FHIR project across multiple sites and vendors will be discussed.
