Making the move to Los Angeles, CA, at age 18, NōKA read books on engineering and sought out opportunities to study under engineers. This lead to an engineering gig with Chris Spilfogel from the Production Duo “The Underdogs”. After hearing one of NōKA’s tracks produced with close friend, Record Producer Brian Kennedy, he was asked to become part of The Underdogs production team.
TROY NōKA since then has production credits on some of the biggest names in music such as: Frank Ocean, Miguel, Chris Brown, Ciara, Hip-Hop artists such as Dom Kennedy Tyga, and T. Mills, as well as those in the Pop World including Natasha Bedingfield, Cheryl Cole, Backstreet Boys, Cody Simpson and most recently Angel Haze and Doja Cat.
In addition to his creative talents, NōKA is also the President of his own Production Company “Wiz Up Entertainment” and Publishing Company “Wiz Up Publishing”.
Despite his success as a record producer, NōKA’s true aspiration was to be a rap artist. Troy’s passion for music, art and fashion is presented through all of his work. His music reflects his own persona, striving to be a strong, driven, positive influence while sharing deep and vulnerable experiences to his listeners. NōKA’s sound stands out well beyond the norm, ranging from immersive electronic soundscapes to body banging bass-booming percussion and clipped synth arpeggios with contrapuntal strings, just to name a few.
