Austin Alvarez is redefining pop music and pushing boundaries with bold songwriting, an eccentric image, and electrifying performances.This multi-talented singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, arranger and producer is blending a unique style of Pop, R&B/Soul, Electronic, and Classical piano with poignant, honest songwriting, and chill inducing vocals.

Born and raised in Houston, Austin always knew that music was his passion and purpose. By the time he was walking, he was already showing signs of his affinity with music and the arts. This love grew spanning many different outlets including acting and theatre. It was there that he realized he felt most at home on stage performing. Austin’s love of theatre soon piqued his interest in makeup and costumes.

Growing up in Houston, Austin was surrounded by a melting pot of different music from R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Soul to Tejano, Classical, and Jazz. By age 14, Austin was training classically on the piano and began writing and composing, bearing his seemingly aged soul. His passion for music is evident in his work as he has developed a unique sound and style all his own. Combining elements from Pop, Rock, and R&B with his Classical piano training and Electronic elements, he delivers powerful vocals and honest lyrics.

In 2006, at the age of 19, Austin released an original EP which included four tracks all of which he wrote, composed, arranged, produced and performed. The response was great and immediately following the release, Austin moved into production on his full debut album. February 2nd, 2010 marked the release of his original album, “Guide To Life.”

In 2007, he relocated to Austin, TX where he fell in love with the diversity and fervent musical energy of the city. The energy that flows through the heart of Austin, TX inspired him to begin channeling his creativity not only into music, but also fashion and sewing. He was soon sewing his looks and costumes as he began performing regularly in and around Austin. His look evokes key elements of his love of fashion, avant garde, runways, and theatre. He used this experience as inspiration and began writing and recording. This led to the release of his next single, “Warrior,” and a new phase in the artistry of Austin.

This led to Austin writing and releasing his next single, “Shot Me Dead,” which also saw Austin debuting his first original music video for which he served as creative director. The video quickly garnered thousands of views and had a tremendous response. Shortly following the release of “Shot Me Dead,” Austin was featured as a contestant on season 13 of American Idol where he made the top 77 out of 75,000.

Today, Austin Alvarez shows no signs of stopping, or slowing down for that matter. An innovative, ground breaking artist, he will continue to blaze his own path: “I plan on being around for a long, long time working both in and outside of music; exploring different paths, taking different roads through life and seeing where they lead. I see no boundaries, no limits; I think we are only limited by ourselves. I’ll always push myself to try new things…I think that’s what life is all about; taking risks, defining originality, enjoying the journey”.

Always aspiring to push the limits, if not explode through them, it seems Austin Alvarez will be around for a long time. There is no telling what the future holds in and outside of music for this multi-talented artist.
