Last June 2014, Rat Fist—a loud, fast, rock band formed by Randy Randall of No Age and Sean McGuiness of Pissed Jeans—will kick off their first weeklong East Coast tour. Rat Fist is the result of a friendship that began over a decade ago in 2003 when Randall’s former band Wives (Los Angeles, CA) and McGuiness’ former band Navies (Washington DC) played a house show together in Washington DC. It was then that the two quickly recognized they had a common love for loud, fast, heavy music.
In the years that followed, Randall and McGuiness’ paths crossed countless times touring the U.S. and Europe in their respective bands and they soon found themselves as label mates at Sup Pop Records. They always talked about forming a band together, however their current projects kept them fully occupied. Finally, after both becoming fathers they realized there was no time like the present to fire it up.

In February 2014, McGuiness flew from to Los Angeles to work with Randall on writing and recording a new album. Over an 8 day weekend they worked with F. Bermudez in his analog studio to record a collection of refreshing, face-melting, fist-pounding cuts.
