Chances are you’ve heard her proverbial and incredible testimony in the critically acclaimed, “Heart Song.” Two-time heart transplant recipient, Jasmine Le’Shea is armed with an infectious smile, is the epitome of a worshipper, a testament of courage, and a radical for Christ. It is her gentle voice, sweet riffs, and flexible range that have caught the attention of Christian Hip-Hop heavyweights like KB & Andy Mineo. Whether ministering in song, or acting in music videos, Jasmine understands the importance of glorifying God through Christ-centered music and Christ-centered living.
At an early age, the “Father Forgive Us” writer and singer established a strong relationship with God. It is through His grace and healing that her story of survival and strength has inspired thousands since stepping onto the music scene in 2012. Since then, Jasmine has been featured in a number of national and international news outlets including Bay News 9, Jam the Hype, Rapzilla, the Reformed African American Network, and Girlfriends Health Guide for Everyday Women. Through her self-titled benefit fund, more than $50,000 has been donated toward her transplant related medical expenses. She soon hopes to expand the reach of the benefit fund to be a blessing to others with substantial medical and financial needs.
Diverse musical influences like Toby Mac, KB, Mali Music, Kari Jobe, Anthony Evans, Jonathan McReynolds, Mandisa, and Flame have inspired Jasmine’s unique contemporary pop, soul and hip hop sounds. When the Chattanooga beauty is not writing and making new music, she advocates for the heart health organization WomenHeart. She also sits behind another microphone; known as radio personality J. Le’Shea, she hosts “Live with J. Le’Shea & Rosie” on Thee Righteous Temple of Hip-Hop. An effective music ministry surely awaits Jasmine because of her work ethic, desire to “honor the Lord,” and touchable relationship with fans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other digital media outlets.
No matter how long or short her life may be, Jasmine has determined that her time on earth be used to honor the Savior, Jesus Christ. It is out of this determination that Jasmine Le’Shea’s music ministry was birthed and continues. Her anticipated debut solo project entitled A Beautiful Life, dedicated to the family of her dear friend, recently deceased fellow heart transplant recipient Bethany, is scheduled to be released early 2015.
Here to stay… God’s songbird, servant, and survivor Miss Jasmine Le’Shea.
