Emma-Lee Moss was born in Hong Kong to an English father and a Chinese mother. As a singer-songwriter performing under the moniker Emmy the Great, she has released two solo records to international acclaim. The Guardian newspaper described her 'One of the boldest young writers in pop.

Her first album, First Love, was album of the week in the Sunday Times Culture, and ranked as one of the New York Times' Albums of the Year for 2009, while Clash Magazine described Emma as 'Quite simply the female counterpart to Bon Iver'.

Her second album, Virtue, was released 2011, and prompted the Evening Standard to call her 'What folk music has been praying for,' while the New Yorker placed her in its Best of 2011.

Emma has also collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Fatboy Slim, Kate Nash, Dev Hynes (Lightspeed Champion, Blood Orange), Ash, Gabriel Bruce and Noah & the Whale.
