Lazerdisk is none other than a high-speed joyride in the vortex of space-time continuum – seeped in the depths of bass, funk, and disco spliced with organic-analog audio waves and digitized techno. Their sound straddles the blurred lines of mainstream pop and underground abstracts, perfect for the ultimate audiophile, yet accessible to the average bystander. Their growing discography of music is comprised of early 80’s funk and RnB combined with soulful classic hip-hop boom-bap beats all cooked up in a crock pot left on for 24 hours. Lazerdisk is comprised of Chad Bechard and Zack Johnson. The two were rather popular DJs in their hometown of Burlington, Vermont who met by chance in the beginning of 2010; and soon found themselves playing on the same bill more than once. They immediately clicked, noting their instant connection through a similar taste in music, which led them to join forces in April of 2010.

Their first release was entitled “Lemonade is Still Popular” – a starship journey through the outer-planetary depths of electro and funk. Fast forward to 2013, the two lads are now wreaking musical havoc in their new home-base of Downtown Los Angeles. Their most successful jaunt as a producing duo came from the highly buzzed-about collaboration with Diplo for the track, “Set it Off”. “Set it Off” caught on like wild fire and eventually landed on the official Coke Zero commercial. Their musical influences range from The Beatles and the Flaming Lips, to A Tribe Called Quest and J Dilla. The world is unclear as to how to describe Lazerdisk sound but that’s exactly the point. An amalgamation of Chad and Zack’s overwhelming record collection, Lazerdisk can easily be labeled as the next generation of sound.

Most recently, Lazerdisk has released the official remix for UZ & CRNKN’s “Booty to the Ground”, for Keys n Krates’ “Treat Me Right”and Sluggers' Turbofade which was released on OWSLA. Their upcoming projects include official remixes for Major Lazer, Anamanaguchi, The Sluggers, and Kito & Reija Lee, as well as collabs with Diplo and NAPT. Lazerdisk’s self titled ep is in the works and it’s sure to breathe fire and shoot lasers in all directions. As for their over-the-top live shows, it’s a sonic journey of severe magnitude. Expect a wide range of emotions as well as a roller coaster of sights and sounds. Lazerdisk’s set lists takes their audiences on an intense whirlwind, leaving them speechless and out-of-breath at the same time. Expect the unexpected from a Lazerdisk set – you’re in for one hell of a ride.
