DWNTWN is a dreamy synth-pop trio with catchy melodies and glistening electronic production that includes Jamie Leffler (lead vocals), Robert Cepeda (guitar, backup vocals, keyboard), and Jerrod Bettis (drums). The band came to be in the summer of 2010 after Jamie and Robert's brother ended their 5 year relationship. Armed with a freshly broken heart and having been a longtime fan of Robert’s previous band, Jamie approached him to begin writing music together with nothing but an acoustic guitar. Equally influenced and inspired by acts like Johnny Cash and Crystal Castles, they transformed these early folk demos into songs that span genres from pop, electronic, new wave, and Americana. Not long after they recorded these songs they met drummer Jerrod Bettis and began playing live as a trio.

In May of 2012, record label Kitsuné handpicked their track, “See My Eyes” to be included in the Kitsuné America compilation (which debuted #1 on the French electronic chart and top 10 in the US and EU).
