Javelin
Javelin is a band/production duo consisting of cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk.
They started working together in 2004, Providence, RI, and have long since moved operations to Brooklyn, NY.
In 2009 Javelin released JAMZ N JEMZ, a collection of odds and ends that found its way around the internet with some vigor. Next came two 12" records for Thrill Jockey, a slew of remixes, and then their debut album entitled No Más on David Byrne's label, Luaka Bop.
In 2010 Javelin toured extensively in the US and abroad, supporting acts such as Yeasayer, Girl Talk, Matt & Kim, Major Lazer… sharing the stage with fellow risers Warpaint, Sleigh Bells, Big Freedia, Washed Out, Tanlines… culminating in playing Lollapalooza and The Whitney Museum in the same month.
2011 saw the release of Canyon Candy, a psychedelic western remaining that took the form of a 10" record, kickstarter funded film, and art installation at the Clocktower Gallery in New York.
