Wayne Kramer
Wayne Kramer has lived a life of music and activism. He was the teenaged founder of Detroit's incendiary MC5. Long a respected film and TV composer, Wayne scored the comedy feature Talladega Nights for Sony Pictures and director Adam McKay; the controversial HBO documentary Hacking Democracy and the PBS film The Narcotic Farm as well as three seasons of the hit HBO series East Bound & Down.
His friendship with revolutionary British songwriter Billy Bragg inspired the two men to create Jail Guitar Doors USA, a Los Angeles based 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to help rehabilitate prison inmates. The musician-run charity provides musical instruments to inmates, who use them to practice non-violent communication and expression.
Wayne still regularly kicks out the jams.
