Chad Valley
Chad Valley are the personal outpourings of one Hugo Manuel, the balearic inclined vocalist of Oxford's Jonquil and founder member of the Blessing Force collective.
Taking a more electronic approach to sunset vibes, Hugo has already played in Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris, Budapest, Belgrade and Istanbul, been a big smash at In The City and Great Escape, supported the likes of Amiina, Twin Shadow and Foals. His music has been on every blog you can think of from Gorilla vs. Bear to Pitchfork's Forkcast and as a remixer he's also found success with rerubs for The Go Team, Fixers, Harrys Gym, The Drums, The Touch, Sound Of Arrows, Alice Gold and CSS.
His debut single "Up and Down" enjoyed a hefty amount of airplay on BBC Radio 1 on release the is past Winter with plays from Zane, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw as well as Huw Stephens. The track was reprised this Autumn as part of the BBC Introducing playlist. In the interim he's enjoyed daytime airplay across the BBC network for subsequent singles "Now That I'm Real" and "Shell Suite" with the former performing particularly well at radio in the US with love from influential stations such as of KEXP and KCRW.
Chad Valley's debut EP arrived in November 2010 via Service's US imprint Cascine and French label Maman in Europe. The follow up "Equatorial Ultravox" was released in June 2011 through Co-Op in Europe, Rallye in Japan and again with Cascine in the US.
