Fiction are a four-piece band from London, formed in 2009.

Members Mike Barrett (vocals, keys, drums), James Howard (vocals, guitars, drums), David Miller (vocals, bass) and Nick Barrett (guitars) coalesce to create what has been described as ‘perfect, anarchic pop’.

The band have recently toured with Warpaint, The Klaxons and Metronomy and have recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, XFM and Diesel Radio. These performances have produced encouraging reactions, such as; ‘the most startling new live act I’ve heard all year’.

Three singles have seen releases to date, namely ‘Curiosity’, ‘Big Things’ and ‘Parakeets’. All singles were played out on BBC Radio 1, 2, 6Music and XFM. Two of the songs made it to Artrocker’s ‘Single of The Month’ and the celebrated ‘Big Things’ featured in XFM’s Xposure playlist, BBC 6Music’s B-List, as well as Kitsuné Maison and Eurostar Records compilations and a Ford automobile television commercial.

Fiction have a long and continuing affiliation with South London art collective, ‘Off Modern’, through whom they have headlined at top London nightclub, Corsica Studios and played an astonishing set at a high-profile squat party in Mayfair. In 2010, Fiction collaborated with BlackBox Sessions at The Roundhouse, Camden to deliver an unusual and captivating live broadcasted performance on Myspace’s home page.

Their output continues to be documented, reviewed and discussed in various esteemed publications. Dedicated articles have appeared in the NME, Dazed and Confused and Clash magazine. They have also been selected to be photographed by Hedi Slimane and Mick Rock respectively.

After having signed to Moshi Moshi/Co-Op in November 2011, the band will release their awaited debut album in June 2012, which they are now in the process of finishing, with producers James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Simian Mobile Disco) and Ash Workman (Metronomy, Summer Camp) and mixed by David Bascombe (Echo & the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode).
