Thulebasen consist of Nis, Niels and Felia, a trio from Vesterbro, downtown Copenhagen. Thulebasen have had a busy 2011 running the label ESCHO that spawned Iceage, making babies and playing within National Art Museums. Starting as an avant-garde experiment in music and art they've mutated and matured into a more traditional, yet still boundary pushing trio, crossing the line between rock, psychedelia and lord knows what else with a loose-hipped ease. This last year they've supported Tune Yards (whom they'll tour with again this year), Ariel Pink, Wavves and the rest, played Roskilde, Spot, Iceland Air, Way Out West plus many more. With a finished album 'Gate 5' under their belts and very nice plans for 2012 now's the time to catch them.
