J. Thoven

J. Thoven is an alternative-rock band based out of Southern California. The band formed when Jake Pappas left Nashville as a solo artist to pursue a full band project. He ventured back home to sunny California to team up with his best friends and prior band mates of an earlier project called Janu and the Whalesharks. The 5 piece began their music venture under the alias J. Thoven in March of 2012. Since forming, they've been honored to share the stage with bands such as Tennis, Joy Formidable, PAPA, The Generationals, Milo Greene, and more. Their vocal melodies comparative to Fleet Foxes and Jeff Buckley are wonderfully tied with three-part guitar harmonies. Sonically, J. Thoven draws on several styles of rock; from folk rock, to alt-country, to progressive rock, all while still maintaining their uniquely crafted sound.
