
Martijn De Waal
Martijn de Waal is the academic director of the Centre of Expertise Creative Innovation, a collaboration between the four universities of Applied Science in Amsterdamm, with program lines on immersive media, artistic research and the role of digital media in democratic societies. He is also a professor leading the Civic Interaction Design research group at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. He is a co-author of the book The Platform Society. Public Values in a Connective World and authored The City as Interface. How New Media Are Changing the City. In 2021 he was the general chair of the Media Architecture Biennale.
