Virginia (V.A.) Stephens

Prior to becoming PUC Commissioner Jimmy Glotfelty’s Chief of Staff, VA has worked in state and federal government as well as the private sector for many years. She last worked with Commissioner Glotfelty when they were both on the White House Interagency Task Force on Energy Project Streamlining – he was in the Secretary of Energy’s office and she was at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She has also worked at the State of Texas TCEQ, Agriculture Department, the State Senate, the Lieutenant Governor’s and Governor’s office. She successfully ran her own legislative and regulatory consultant practice for over a decade, focusing primarily on water, energy, small business, local government, and cultural issues. She is a graduate of UT Austin’s Plan II Honors Program.
