Considering Nuclear as a Fossil Fuel State
Using Kentucky as an example of the complexity and nuances associated with pursuing an all of the above energy strategy, we will share perspectives from a fossil fuel dependent state and how this energy is intermingled across many aspects of the state beyond just providing electricity. In an energy transition, the benefit of achieving greenhouse gas reductions produces many complexities of transitioning energy in local economies. Kentucky will share their lessons learned in considering how nuclear energy may serve their state’s future energy systems and how that translates to other states.
