Siobahn Grady’s remarkable journey began as the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2018. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Director of Information Science/Systems at the School of Library and Information Sciences at North Carolina Central University. She is also the Director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Equity Research (IAIER), leading efforts to position NCCU as a pioneering hub for AI within the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) network. Through IAIER, Dr. Grady promotes innovation and representation in AI-related industries while fostering collaborations with HBCUs nationwide to prepare a new generation of AI leaders equipped to address the field's technical and ethical challenges.
