Making Autonomous Transportation Accessible

Mar 12, 2025

2:30pm – 3:30pm CT

As companies continue to develop, test, and expand autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, the future of an autonomous transportation ecosystem draws closer. However, those who would benefit most from this technology, people with disabilities and older adults, are often left out of the discussion.

In this session, we will present the current state of autonomous transportation, report on the needs and opinions of older adults and people with disabilities shared by impacted individuals, and discuss solutions for increasing AV accessibility.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
