Teruko Mitsuhara
Teruko Vida Mitsuhara, PhD is a linguistic and business anthropologist with over 15 years of ethnographic research experience with diverse communities in the US and India. Topics she’s well versed in are utopian and intentional communities, race and ethnicity, gender, middle childhood, migration, new religious movements, digital creativity, and new technologies. Her research engages with alternative world-building movements, especially from the perspective women and children – including a Hindu utopian village in West Bengal, India and a Black utopian city-building project in Georgia, US – as well as user experiences in creative technologies and artificial intelligence design and ethics in Silicon Valley. She currently is a senior research manager for Adobe Express helping to foster intuitive digital creation for everyone, everywhere! When she’s not working, you can catch her on stage at theaters around LA performing sketch comedy, and you’ll soon find her as the newest member of the Sunday Company at the prestigious Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
