Arttu Luukanen

Arttu Luukanen is the Senior Vice President of Space & Defence at Solar Foods. He holds a Ph.D. in applied physics from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Prior to joining Solar Foods, Arttu has held several leadership positions in industry and academia, serving as the CEO of a deep tech security sensing company, as well as a Research Professor at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Director of MilliLab an ESA external laboratory. At Solar Foods, Arttu led the team that recently won NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge on a spaceborne food production concept that turns onboard waste gases (CO2 and H2) to nutritious and palatable foods. He is an elected fellow of the Finnish Academy of Technical Sciences.
