Shinique Smith

Shinique Smith is an LA-based artist known for her monumental fabric sculptures and abstract paintings incorporating calligraphy and collage. Her work explores themes of consumption, waste and spiritual sanctuary, using personal mementos and discarded objects. Smith's inspirational childhood experiences inform her unique artistic vision. A graduate of the famed Maryland Institute College of Art, she has received numerous awards and exhibited widely in prestigious institutions globally. Smith has also created notable public art commissions, including works for major transit systems.
