Hilary Franz

Hilary Franz is the Commissioner of Public Lands in Washington State, overseeing nearly 6 million acres of public lands since 2017. She focuses on addressing climate change, wildfire preparedness, and sustainable land management. Franz secured a historic $500 million investment for wildfire prevention and forest restoration and developed the State's first Plan for Climate Resilience. With a background as an environmental attorney and Bainbridge Island City Council member, she has consistently championed environmental and community focused initiatives. Franz is running for Congress to address climate change, housing, and economic development on a national level​.
