Benita Hussain

Benita Hussain oversees American Forests’ Tree Equity work to ensure we are advancing equitable tree canopy cover in 100 cities by 2030. Previously, Hussain was the director of the 10 Minute Walk campaign aimed at expanding parks and green spaces across 300 U.S. cities. Hussain was an environmental policy advisor to Mayor Mike Bloomberg, helping shape his global agenda on urban climate action, and to late-Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, creating the award-winning climate campaign Greenovate Boston.
