Elida (Elly) Espinoza, PhD is an entomologist and Principal Scientist at EnviroFlight, an insect agriculture company that focuses on the commercial farming of black soldier fly (BSF) larvae to produce high quality ingredients for animal feed.
Elida specializes in the development of rearing and selection strategies for commercial-scale black soldier fly (BSF) farming. With a strong background in genetics and molecular biology, Elida leads a cross-functional team to enhance BSF production through innovative breeding programs and trait development.
Her leadership extends to managing large-scale projects, including the successful development and
testing of new commercial BSF populations.
