Richard Socher

Richard Socher is the cofounder/CEO of you.com. He was previously Chief Scientist at Salesforce, following their acquisition of his AI startup MetaMind in 2016. A Stanford Computer Science Ph.D. graduate and former adjunct professor, Richard brought neural networks into the field of natural language processing. He invented contextual vectors and pioneered prompt engineering. He's the fourth most-cited NLP researcher (185,000+ citations). Richard's awards include Stanford's best CS PhD thesis (2014), an honorary doctorate from TU Dresden, ICML 2011 best paper, 2016 Young Global Leader (WEF), ACL 2023 test-of-time award, and PAMI Longuet-Higgins Prize for ImageNet. Time Magazine named him to the TIME100 AI in 2023. The World Economic Forum recognized you.com as a Tech Pioneer in 2024.
