Fashion Innovation: NextGen Materials for Sustainable Future

Date TBA

Fashion needs to clean up its act! Overproduction, use of synthetic materials & chemicals and water & air pollution are top issues. One area that will make a big difference is to clean up the materials. Material science innovations: leather-like materials made from plants, silks made from trees, and bio-based polyester are necessary to ensure a sustainable fashion future. In this session, we will discuss: the current status of material innovation; is fashion different from other sectors that makes scaling these materials more complex? How can we accelerate the process of scaling material innovations?
