Breaking Barriers: Opening the Outdoors for All

Mar 7, 2025

2:30pm – 3:30pm CT

Do people of color venture into the outdoors? You’re damn right, we do! What forces have long painted the outdoors as a predominantly white space, and how are communities of color boldly challenging that narrative? Explore the award-winning short film documentary "Wood Hood" and learn how leaders are tackling the legacy of discriminatory policies that once kept diverse communities from national parks and public lands. By offering unprecedented access to the great outdoors - often for the first time - these programs are fostering resilience, wellness and community, providing participants with essential tools to navigate today's complex social and environmental climates.
