How Texans are Getting Abortions – Now and in the Future
Texas was one of the first states to ban abortion in 2021 before Roe v. Wade was overturned. Once Roe fell, Texas banned all abortions, clinics closed, and while you may think this ended abortion for Texans, you would be wrong. Thousands of Texans travel out of state for abortion while others order pills online or self-manage care despite legal risks. This panel examines the effects of abortion bans, what you can do to restore abortion access, and innovations helping Texans get care, including a shield law provider who mails abortion pills and will join virtually due to fear of entering Texas.
