Hope and Dignity: How Second Chance Careers Change Lives
Purdue University’s Manufacturing Skills for Success (MS4S) program offers job training for incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals, leading to productive careers and reducing the likelihood of committing future crimes. The training connects this community to high-skilled careers in manufacturing, an industry experiencing severe worker shortages. The program engages community partners for services like affordable housing, reliable transportation, and childcare. MS4S has trained more than 1,800 individuals to date and the model is expanding across the country.
