Can the Auto Industry Pave the Way for Car Recycling?
Did you know that today’s cars and trucks are made up of more than 50% plastic? Plastic materials can improve vehicle climate impacts, fuel efficiency, battery range, and safety but also present challenges when it comes to recycling cars at the end of their useful life. Hear what Hyundai, Department of Energy researchers, and other industry leaders have learned from exploring how to recover, recycle, and remake these materials into new vehicle parts and components. Attendees will also discover what other industries can learn about new recycling technologies from the automotive industry.
