In this session I’ll be exploring how digitizing fashion archives can revolutionize preservation and interaction with fashion collections. The Fashion Museum in Bath struggles to showcase its 100,000 strong fashion archive due to limited space and budget. My work explores digitising this archive using technologies from £30,000 handheld scanners to iPhone apps with Lidar scanning. Imagine designing in 3D using textiles from a designer's collection or placing an augmented reality (AR) version of an iconic fashion item in a set that you have designed.
