The Future of Online Safety: Creating Safe Spaces For Women
Social media has been around for decades, but internet safety continues to lag – despite innovations in other areas. The reality is that women face a disproportionate amount of harassment online. While online communities and services have made significant strides in enhancing their safety and moderation tools, processes, and policies that protect women and other groups, much work still needs to be done. Safety is personal, and companies should be confident that their policy and product interventions are worthwhile, necessary, and effective in making user experiences better and safer. Join Twitch’s trust & safety leadership, and one of its incredible creators, for an intimate conversation about the way companies can prioritize safety policies that help build stronger online communities, empower women and enable all creators and viewers to thrive.
