Sunnbrella is the project of Prague-born, London-based musician and producer David Zbirka, shaped by a musical upbringing, Zbirka found early inspiration in his father's expansive record collection before discovering the emotive pull of emo, hardcore, and shoegaze. This diverse foundation informs Sunnbrella's sound—a dynamic fusion of hazy guitar textures, pulsating club rhythms, and introspective lyricism.

Following the success of his 2023 debut Heartworn, Zbirka began to evolve Sunnbrella's sonic identity, blending the rawness of alternative rock with electronic experimentation. His upcoming album Gutter Angel delves into darker, more abrasive territories while maintaining a melodic sensibility. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Oliver Torr, Sunnbrella's music oscillates between the ethereal and the visceral, capturing the complexities of identity, love, and self-destruction.
