South Austin Jug Band at Continental Club
This performance is part of the showcase that starts on Saturday, March 15 at Continental Club
The South Austin Jug Band began in 2000 with a weekly Sunday night gig in Austin, TX. Over two decades later, the five-piece string band still doesn’t have a jug, but they do have an eclectic catalog that spans swing, bluegrass, Americana, blues, the occasional Ween tune, and even Grateful Dead covers—all alongside their original songs.
The band’s lineup features James Hyland (guitar, vocals), Warren Hood (fiddle, vocals), Willie Pipkin (lead guitar, vocals), Matt Slusher (mandolin, vocals), and the future Governor of Texas, Will Dupuy (upright bass, vocals). This year, they're thrilled to bring their signature sound to SXSW, sharing their unique blend of styles with fans old and new.
