Swan Dive

This performance is part of the showcase that starts on Friday, March 14 at Swan Dive

Nara's Room is a slacker-shoegaze experimental project based out of Brooklyn, NY. Weaving nostalgic slacker and shoegaze textures from the 90s and 2000s with an ambient wash of sound, the distorted acoustic-electric guitars and intentional lyrics redefine the genre. According to WRUV 90.1fm, the band’s music “steers the genre in a much more lyrical direction without diminishing the heavy instrumentals. The ecstatic guitar does not obscure the thoughtful, powerful vocals that drive the song. The catchy guitar riffs fill the void that current shoegaze often presents, and the melodies blend wonderfully with the vocals."

Recently signed to Mtn Laurel Recording Co., their highly anticipated album Glassy star was released in October. "Glassy star" blends an original sound reminiscent of The Sundays, Hum, and Sneaker Pimps. Featured for the second year in a row, Oh My Rockness ranked Nara's Room as #5 on the list of "Hardest Working Bands of 2024," opening for bands like fantasy of a broken heart, Truth Club, NewDad, Subsonic Eye, and more. Their album "Glassy star" was recently featured in Flood Magazine's "15 Albums From 2024 You Should Know" list.
