Last Waltzon at Chess Club

Born out of camaraderie and chaos, Last Waltzon is a four-piece art-punk group based in Montreal. The band came together in the summer of 2021, bonding over groups like Women and The Velvet Underground. Jack, Judah, Cameron and Josh deliver a euphonious noise of unhinged punk vigour steeped in pop sensibilities. With vocals reminiscent of Mark E. Smith, washed-out guitars like Chicago’s Twin Peaks, and the angular bass riffs and drumming of a 1970’s CAN record; their live performances are an artful and infectious experience, exhibiting spontaneous onstage antics with a huge exchange of energy between the audience and band. Last Waltzon recorded their catalogue, from their very first double single release to a full 12-track album, at Holy Mountain Sound in the heart of downtown Montreal. The record features masterful mixing by Chris Szczech (The Garden, Goo Goo Dolls) and a track by Kristopher Sampson (Omni, Balkans) and Mastering from Greg Obis. The album is reminiscent of those that transcend genres. The singles have earned them spots at SXSW 2025 and New Colossus 2025.
