Shiho Yabuki at Central Presbyterian Church
Musician - Shiho YABUKI studied classical piano from age 5. Her improvisations were so amazing, that Shiho's father suspected she had prepared them the day before. Her first ever performance of electronic musical instruments was at the Konpon Chudo Hall for the 1200th anniversary of the founding of the world heritage site of Mt. Hiei Enryakuji Temple in Kyoto. Her debut CD “The Body is Message from the Universe" was released to a critical acclaim in the U.S. by San Francisco-based label Hearts of Space, Inc. and it landed as Canada's second most popular CD in the New Age genre. It has been re-released by Subliminal Sounds worldwide. She volunteered to hold ‘New York Prayer’ concerts in New York, following the ‘9/11’ tragedies. Shiho was also selected to participate in the Grammy-nominated "Environmental Music" CD series which also featured YMO and Joe Hisaishi. She has most recently collaborated with composer and artist Morgan Fisher (Mott the Hoople) for the CD "When Two Rivers Meet" featuring multiple track improvisations.
