Hiding Places

Curiosity drives the songwriting and recording process of the alternative folk project Hiding Places. Spearheaded by Audrey Keelin-Walsh's intimate guitarwork and Nicholas Byrne's Elephant 6 inspired approach to production, collaboration is at the heart of Hiding Places' music. The band took shape after meeting through UNC Chapel Hill's radio station in 2019, and recorded remotely throughout 2020-2024 across London, Brooklyn, Athens, GA, and Chapel Hill.

The group draws influences from scenes across the globe - from Athens' folk-country pioneers Drive By Truckers to the burgeoning D.I.Y. community in London. After recording remotely from 2020-2023, the band now lives together in Brooklyn, NY. Hiding Places’ latest EP Lesson, produced by Colin Miller (Wednesday, MJ Lenderman), was recorded at Angel Studios in London, and was released on March 22nd of 2024 through independent Brooklyn-based label HATETOQUIT. The band spent 2024 touring on the back of the EP and recording new material for an upcoming album - set to release in 2025. The album was recorded with engineer Michael Matsakis (Indigo De Souza) at the NYU Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music
