Enfants
Enfants is a four-piece alternative rock band from Japan. Pronounced "Anfan", their name means "children" in French.
April 2022 marked the start of their live performances, driven by the themes of "play" and “adorn”. The track “Play” from their first EP “Q”, released in April 2023, caught fire on social media after being introduced by several prominent Japanese musicians. Buzz spread organically, and by January 2024, it was selected in the "Top 10 of 2023” segment of a popular Japanese music program, pushing them into the national viral charts. Enfants perform tirelessly across Japan's live house circuit. Internationally, they performed at festivals and venues such as 'Carnival Fever' in Taichung, Taiwan, and 'THE UU MOUTH' in Taipei. They also appeared at SUMMER SONIC 2024, one of Japan’s biggest music festivals. Frontman Dai Matsumoto describes rock 'n' roll as “a way to showcase your life story.” His Japanese lyrics intertwine with the music to express the struggles and anger of living with a sharp cynicism. Balancing the fine line between the loneliness and empathy inherent in rock, Matsumoto’s expressive vocals bring a trembling beauty to the band’s sound.
