Sunna Margrét
Of Sunna Margrét’s debut album ‘Finger on Tongue’, The Quietus said “Oddball Icelandic pop packs a dense punch, heavy with ideas” as well as featuring it as one of their ‘Albums of the Year So Far’ back in the summer. Drawing from influences such as CAN, Suzanne Ciani & PJ Harvey, Sunna’s music has received enthusiastic support from the likes of Paper Magazine, American Songwriter, The Line of Best Fit, KEXP, KCRW, Under The Radar, BBC 6 Music, Radio X & Soho Radio.
Sunna Margrét played The Great Escape earlier in the year, most recently at Iceland Airwaves and will perform at ESNS in January 2025. Sunna’s performance has been described by The Line of Best Fit as “Spacey, dramatic, rhythmically hypnotising”. Paste Magazine noted “I’ll not soon forget Margrét’s kaleidoscopic, unearthly show” while featuring her as one of their ’10 Best Acts We Saw At Iceland Airwaves’. Additionally she is a 2024 highlight for legendary KEXP presenter Kevin Cole, having filmed a in-studio KEXP session earlier in the year.
